Our mission is to promote the Africa business landscape by creating a platform that connects students, academics, and professionals in North America to the economic, political, and social opportunities in Africa.
Club membership is $5 for the year and is open to all UBC students. We seek to create an open and inclusive community where rigorous yet respectful debate and dialogue are encouraged. We do not discriminate based on age, gender, race, income, sexual orientation, or country of origin.
- Promote awareness within UBC and more generally Western Canada about business opportunities on the African continent, with the goal of increasing investment and resource allocation to the continent.
- Create an environment at UBC for African students and students interested in Africa to come together in both an academic and social setting.
- Encourage the UBC community to further incorporate African studies into the curriculum across faculties by acknowledging topics such as African history, innovation, case studies, and literature.
